After a few weeks of  haitus, here I am once again offering you my faithful readers, a new installment to the Games You Don't Want to Play series. The following rituals are not as hardcore as the ones mentioned in the past posts but I still hope you guys would still heed the warnings I wrote on top (come on guys, recognize its existence! I even wrote it in red). Anyway, enjoy!

THE PENCIL GAME

Introduction: The Pencil Game is an old Mexican tradition supernatural ritual that is used to contact a ghost. It is sometimes called “Six Pencils” or “Charlie, Charlie”

Things you need:

Two people
6 blunt pencils

How to do it:
1.  Each person takes three pencils and arranges them to form three sides of a square (as in the picture above). The ends of your pencils should be touching. You should be holding the pencils at the sharpened tip.

2. Both of you say the following chant twice: “Charlie, Charlie, can we play?”
If the pencils move inwards, the answer is YES.
If the pencils move outwards, the answer is NO.

3. You ask the spirit of Charlie Yes or No questions. He will indicate his answer by moving the pencils.

How to finish the game:

You both must chant “Charlie, Charlie, can we stop” When the pencil move inwards or upwards, you drop them to the floor and say “Goodbye” to break the contact.

THE CLOSET GAME

Introduction: The Closet Game is a scary paranormal ghost game that can be played by one or two people. The object of the game is to summon a demon. You can do this alone or with a friend. Wait until it is night. This will not work during day light.

Things you need:
A box of matches
a closet.
A watch or clock with an alarm/timer.

How to do it:
1.Set your alarm/timer for 2 minutes, but don’t start it yet.
2. Turn off all the lights in the room. The room must be in complete darkness. If there is a light in the closet make sure it is off.
3.Open the closet door, step inside and close the door behind you.
4. Start the timer on your watch/clock. You should stand facing the door for exactly two minutes.
5. Take one match (don’t light it), hold it in front of you and say,Show me the light or leave me in darkness.”

6.  Listen very carefully.
If you begin hearing a faint whispering, lit the match immediately.
If you don’t hear anything, and the match does not ignite on its own, then don’t turn around. You can leave the closet/wardrobe at this point and try again at another time.
If you do not light the match fast enough after hearing the faint whispers, you will feel something grab you from behind and drag you into eternal darkness.

7. Keep the match lit. Do not blow it out. If it accidentally goes out, immediately light another match.
8.  Holding the lit match in front of you, open the closet door slowly and step outside. Do not turn around. Close the closet door behind you. Do not look inside the closet.

Important Things to Remember:
1. From this moment on you must always keep the closet/wardrobe door closed. If you ever open the door then it must only be done in a lit room, ideally as illuminated as possible. It is said that if you look into the closet/wardrobe then you will see the demon watching you with two blood-red eyes. Staring into its eyes is a bad idea and leaves you vulnerable to possession.

2. If at any point you enter the room to find the closet door standing open then the demon has escaped and you are in grave danger of possession, or worse.

YEAR WALKING

Introduction:
Årsgång, or Year Walk, is an ancient, complex form of divination in Swedish folk tradition. Its purpose was to see what would happen the following year. The folklore surrounding the phenomena varies widely regionally.
Things you need:
A darkened room
A nearby church

How to do it:
1. First, it must be done during the day, and it usually takes place before either Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve arrives.
2. You must  lock yourself up in a dark room. You are not allowed to talk to anyone or have anything to eat or drink. All of these must be done seriously or else the ritual will be ineffective.
3. At the stroke of midnight you should head for church. Do not greet any passersby and do not speak or laugh. You might see creatures along the way, some are dangerous so be very careful.
4. If you managed to survive and arrived at the parish/church, walk around the building three times.
5. Blow into the church’s key hole. This means that you were blowing out your Christian faith, which would allow you to get closer to the supernatural world.
6. You would then walk around the church counter-clockwise. This is when you will encounter supernatural beings that will challenge you some way or the other. If you managed these tests, you will be rewarded with glimpses of the future; either in vision or by sounds.

Important Things to Remember:
1. If you did a Year Walk seven years in a row, it is said that you will the possibility of becoming a "cunning" person, someone who is capable of magical powers and foreseeing the future
2. Again this divination varies from region to region so there might be other variations of this ritual.
